  Appearance: For all practical purposes, Rockette is a piece of
              granite, with a couple of quartz veins.

Rockette comes aboard the USS LEDA as part of the luggage of Viggen
Sorenson, who considers it his 'pet rock'. Soon after, however, it is
discovered that Rockette is able to teleport itself around, though it
almost never does it before witnesses. It is never discovered if
Rockette is sentient, or even alive at all.


ROLEPLAYING HINTS

Rockette is to be used sparingly, and preferably in passing
references. Consider it part of the ship's tapestry, like ODN relays,
plasma conduits and such. For example:

Among the curious eyes of the present techs, Druur stomped into the Engineering room and angrily threw her bag onto her chair.

"Well," she growled, "turns out that the Captain does _not_ see the advantages of a micro-transporter powered coffee delivery system - instead he wants us to extend the frequency range of the lateral sensor array. For that - hang on. Smitty!"

"Yes?", answered the named tech.

"Could you please be a dear and remove this tenacious rock from the EPS main junction? She's at it again.", asked him Druur with a hint of resignation. "Thank you. Now, for these frequency extensions we need to..."

about Rockette than you as the writer do.
